Massachusetts Mosquito Control: An Essential Part of Spring Time Lawn Care

Posted by AllGreen on March 3, 2014

Thankfully, it’s already March. It seems that the worst of this winter may be behind us and, with a bit of luck, we’ll soon be enjoying longer, warmer, sunnier days. Spring officially starts on March 20th and with its arrival comes our chance to enjoy more time spent in and around our home’s lawns. There’s nothing that snaps us out of the long hibernation of winter like the chance to spend time with our families on a lush and healthy lawn. As the spring season brings with it the promise of change and rejuvenation, it also signals the pesky return of insects. Yes, ticks, flies, and mosquitoes will soon become ever more prevalent so Massachusetts mosquito control has to be at the top of your priority list as winter dies down.

AllGreen has specialized in lawn care in Boston and many of its surrounding areas for long enough to become familiar with the behavior of common pests like mosquitoes. We’re also highly aware of the many viruses that insects like ticks and mosquitoes can carry and transmit. New examples of West Nile Virus and Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) being transmitted to humans are becoming more and more frequent.

The Dangers Posed by Mosquitoes

In fact, in a recent article published in the Taunton Gazette entitled, “Health Officials Expect Massachusetts Will See West Nile, EEE Every Year,” Dr. Catherine Brown was reported as saying, “Massachusetts is certainly unique in that we are actually the state that has the second greatest number EEE human cases ever. Only Florida has more cases than we do.” Dr. Brown went on to tell the Public Health Council that cases of humans with EEE have been increasing in Massachusetts with a potential, “emerging hotspot along the New Hampshire border.”

This is a sobering fact when it comes to our lawns’ mosquito control in Massachusetts because, if not handled effectively and professionally, the chances of being exposed to both the West Nile Virus and EEE greatly increase. In order to ensure the safety of you and your family, you should take advantage of the many lawn programs in MA that we make available. We’ve consistently made MA mosquito control one of our primary services because of the potential danger that mosquitoes pose while in and around our lawns. We have a variety of spray packages available that we apply to your lawn in a manner that is consistent with your outdoor environment’s unique needs. We can effectively collaborate with you to engineer a pest control regiment that will help to keep your family and friends safe.
